Who we are

MaxPrep is operated by MAXPREP LTD, registered in Nigeria at 1 Sogbe Compound, Ajara Agamathen, Badagry, Lagos, Nigeria. Where these terms say we or us, that is who is meant.

Your account

You can open the app and start practising with the free questions without an account. To keep your work and carry it to another phone, you need one.

Give us your real name. Your results are meant to look like your JAMB results, and a leaderboard full of invented names helps nobody. Keep your password to yourself. The account is yours alone, and if you share it we may close it.

You must be at least 12 to hold an account in your own name. Below that age a parent or guardian holds it and agrees to these terms for you.

Paying for a session

MaxPrep is sold by the JAMB session. One payment of 2,000 naira covers the whole of the session you bought, and that is the only charge.

Nothing renews. We do not keep your card and we cannot take money from you again without you starting a new payment yourself. There is no monthly plan and no second tier to buy.

A session ends when that year's JAMB is over. When it does, your account stays and your past results stay, but the paid features close until you buy the next session. We will tell you inside the app before that happens rather than letting you discover it.

Payment is taken by Paystack. If a payment fails or a bank holds it, that sits between you and them, and we will help you sort it out.

What is in the app

Past JAMB questions, our own explanations of the answers, lesson videos, the set novel with audio, a study planner and a weekly challenge.

The questions come from past JAMB papers. The explanations, the app itself, the design and the audio are ours. You may use all of it to prepare for your own examination. You may not copy it out, resell it, upload it elsewhere, or use it to run a competing service.

Lesson videos play from YouTube and belong to whoever made them. They are covered by YouTube's terms as well as ours. We do not host, download or extract them, and the app will not let you either.

Fair use

Do not try to break into the app or our servers. Do not change the app to get paid features without paying. Do not use another person's account. Do not use software to play the weekly challenge for you, and do not try to change a score after a paper closes. Scores are worked out on our server for exactly this reason.

If you do any of this we may remove you from the leaderboard, close your account, or both. Where an account is closed for cheating we do not return the payment.

When it will not work

Practice and mock papers run on your phone and keep working with no network. That is the point of the app and we have built it that way deliberately.

Some things do need a connection: downloading subjects the first time, lesson videos, the weekly challenge, and sending your results up to us. The app tells you which is which before you tap, and it will not pretend to work when it cannot.

We cannot promise the service is never down. Servers fail, suppliers have outages and phones run out of storage. We will keep it running as well as we can and we will not switch the service off during a JAMB session without telling you well ahead.

We are not JAMB

MaxPrep is not the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and has no connection with it. We are not endorsed by JAMB, we do not register you for the examination, and nothing here affects your real result.

The score MaxPrep gives you is our estimate, marked out of 400 in the same shape JAMB uses so that it is meaningful to you. It is not a prediction and it is not a guarantee. Practising here does not mean you will pass, and we will never tell you it does.

We check our questions and explanations carefully, and there will still be mistakes in a bank this size. There is a report button on every question. Tell us and we will fix it.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, under Me. Nothing is hidden behind an email request. What happens to your data then is set out in the privacy policy.

We may close an account that breaks the fair use section above. If we close yours for any other reason we will tell you why and return the unused part of what you paid.

The legal part

We are responsible for running MaxPrep with reasonable care. We are not responsible for the result you get in your examination, for a decision a university makes about you, or for losses we could not have seen coming.

If we change these terms we will change the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app before a change that affects what you have paid for. If you do not accept a change you can delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria deal with any dispute.
